Sunday, December 30, 2007 (all of my days i will sing your praises) Finally the stuff u have been waiting for.. Meta and Year end reflection.. Lets start with meta first...................... METAMORPHOSIS 2007 - real christian real world Was great.. Super great thats its a real pity for those who missed it.. Ok lets start with what went on.... What I will be kinda a reflection too eh.. haha.. Was held at faith methodist church from 26 - 28 dec.. DAY 1 Leader's track first.. Verse used in the morning sermon.. Philippians 1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel 1 Timothy 4:12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Speech - Speak what is beneficial - Say the right things at the right time Life - Forgot bout it =X Love - What we do needs to be motivated by God's love Faith - Trust God - Faith leads to faithfulness Purity - Live a life of holiness - Flee from temptation We will need one another in the team, everone will be learning from each other, see what we can do to reach out other then to pray, need to have a clear view of each roles... Accepted leadership is having a clear understanding to exercise authority and how decisions are made etc. Grow in relationship with other leaders in trust, respect, acceptance, conflict resolution, truth and love. The real challenge in ledaership is to walk with God..and its really a challenge.. Then lunch.. after that attended a workshop on how to set a compelling vision.. Gained a new insight to what a vision is like.. Realised that I had the wrong concept of what a vision is.. Then after the workshop was another sermon.. On faith...... Verse used: Mark 12:41-43 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on." Our life and ministry is a faith offering ot God, giving by faith is about giving, 1) Without Reservation 2) Without Expectation of Return 3) Without demand of results Results of not trusting God with small things, 1) We despise the small things 2) We hoard and we hide 3) We can sometimes despise other people's "two copper coins" Everything we withhold something, we do not get richer but instead, we only get poorer - and we show other people that too... And was after dinner the conference opening - another sermon.. Haha.. Verse used: Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. We have to run the race marked out for us 1) Run together - Running the race together sure is fun, so must support each other. 2) Run light - Run without anything which hinders our process - the sin that so easily entangles - especially the sin of doubt - must identify YOUR "excess baggage" 3) Run with the end in mind Run with the end in mind - with perserverance - fix our eyes on Jesus, author and perfector of our faith DAY 2 Welcome to the life of a real christian. Morning sermon, Verse used: Matthew 25:31-46 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." Q1: Why am I here? Q2: Am I real? Q3: Is God real? If he is real, you need to be inspired. We have to do what is RIGHT and its tough. Real Inspired Give Heal Take it to the Lord in prayer. Impacted me about the topic on money, felt that I placed money over God at times. Yea.. So must use money to glorify God too cause he will provide on this de.. No need be bothered by it. Got money to give?? Go give then spread the good news.. Hear already must do. Am I gifted enough to give? Am I gifted enough to heal? Afternoon was Guys/Girls time. As the name suggests, this is where all the guys will have a talk about something useful for them, same goes for the girls. That was the first appearance of Dr Dave Park, our guest speaker. Hehehehehehe.. For the guys.. LOL.. True freedom is doing something what God called you to be. No. 1 Lie of Satan - You gotta do something to be saved by God. Always seek God, not his presence, not his voice etc. Luke 15:11-31 Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. "Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 'Your brother has come,' he replied, 'and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.' "The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, 'Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!' " 'My son,' the father said, 'you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' " Man is made in the image of God, however they sin and all fall short for the glory of God. But only those who believe in him, those who confess by sins and accept Christ as their personal Saviour. They will have the better things - the robe of righteous If you think of who you are, then you are. We are called to be a son, a priest, a king as well as a prophet of God. With authority(right to rule) and power(ability to rule). Your mind is your own. So take every issue captive. Then the sermon at night Who you are is determined by your creator You are a child of God What you do does not determine who you are What Christ did determine who you are God initiated the love, you can only fellowship with him ONLY when you accept God. Look to God for your needs. So who you are? Remember, what you believe determines your behaviour, and how you behave determines what you will do. DAY 3 The last day of the conference, welcome to the real world. Morning sermon.. Verse used: Matthew 18:21-35 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. "The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. "But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. "His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' "But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. "Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." You cannot follow God if you cannot forgive. How can we speak of the good news when we have bad news and grudges in our hearts? So who should we forgive? Sometimes the devil will jus put thoughts in us, that God is unjust and stuff... If you don't forgive, you will live your life in bitterness. And when you live your life in bitterness, you end up surrendering your freedom. That's the devil's trick.. God did not ask you to forget, but to forgive. Forgiving is heart, but it sets you free.. Thinking back at that moment, I have many things which I did not forgive, friends, families, God, myself.... Many things was revealed, things which I have forgotten, and it truely did set me free.. So was really great. Amen.. Afternoon, attended a workshop - A Different Worldview Solid stuff, about the worldview in the present time and the biblical worldview.. But this workshop focused on athesim vs christian At first I thought I signed up for the wrong workshop, cause no one I knew was there and other workshop seem more interesting. But thankfully I didnt crash any other workshop. I stayed on and at the end realised this was what I really wanted. Evening sermon after dinner, topic was on faith. Verse used: Romans 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Luke 9:22-24 And he said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life." Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. God has given us a measure of faith - the faith to trust Jesus. He will use you no matter what you are, if you think you are not ready, then you have already been deceived. Faith is taking the step of something unnatural. It is however based on the foundation of what is done for you which is seen by God - Faith in God =p It is not about your power and ability. It is about his. Greater is in he who is in you (1 john 4:4) The truth will set you free, you are a child of God. Deny yourself and take up your cross. Will you choose to live for his kingdom? It is easier to live then to die for his kingdom. There will be a time day when the time to save souls is over. The harvest is ripen already. Are you ready? Always be ready to give an answer to a question about the hope that lies in you. Hahaha... Thats about it for the 3 days of meta.. I will save the money and time spent is super worth it.. Understood what God meant already about coming and living my homework to him.. Took back great lessons.. Hehehehe.. God also spoke alot of things to me.. And yea... Felt really happy to know that God is watching over me.. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Year end reflection!!!!!!!!! The past year was great.. Received great blessings for God, the end of my relationship with my ex opened many doors. I landed into NP and got to know great friends in crusade, Lets start with my class, my class rocks, as in super on, but got the positive and negative side la.. But God has placed a burden in my heart to reach out to them. He has also brought me through tough times like projects and classes and exams, really thankful that he has sustained me. Still could remember I had doubts if I could adapt to the new environment. Ahahaha... Then joined crusade. Was really great, I got to know God more. Main highlight to me in crusade was TUT as well as SLR camp. This was where I grew a step in my faith.. The friends I met in S&W, one of my IS course is priceless too.. LOL.. Hahaha.. There are also many wonderful things which is like alot to describe.. Heh.. Main highlights of the year 2007 1) Coming to NP 2) Joining Crusade 3) Breaking up 4) Common Test 5) First 2 wk holi which dont look lik holi 6) Exams 7) SLR 8) TUT 9) SMAD 10) LS christmas celebration 11) META 2007 Things Looking forward in 2008 1) Gen 12 2) Being a ST and a SM 3) Lead a DG group 4) More project X :) 5) META 2008 6) Naked I 7) Being an E-pal 8) Church TQ (fellowship) to grow together.. 9) More closer relationship with God 10) Next crusade camp Haha..
